Coaching & Case Management Tools

In our coaching and case management initiatives, we work with organizations to transform trauma into opportunities for vicarious healing, address the root beliefs that motivate behavior change, and cultivate young people’s ability to reach healthy, productive adulthood and establish permanency.
Over the past 3 years, Be the Change Consulting has developed a unique leadership program called Creative, Resourceful and Whole, designed specifically for teen-aged youth growing up in at-risk environments, who feel academically disengaged, or are non-traditional teen leaders.
This program developed organically from several projects working directly with young people in leadership development, workforce development, and rites of passage projects to support young men and women transition into adulthood. In our work with youth, we found many of them had a passion to discover a deeper version of themselves, but were struggling to build connections and were afraid to dream outside of their comfort zones. All of these challenges were continuous blocks to youth development outcomes of healthy employment, relationship building, and skill building toward economic self-sufficiency.
As a response, we combined what we have learned through life coaching programs, somatics and trauma analysis, and youth development theory to develop a six module curriculum and a professional learning community to guide young people through an inner journey to deepen their sense of self, in order to ultimately make meaningful contributions to the world around them.
This program helps young people create a connection to personal self-awareness, identify core values, make choices in alignment with these core values, take action, and build intentional connections to others.
What changes when you integrate Creative, Resourceful and Whole into your program?
Young people are all too often told what to do, instead of being asked a powerful question to support their own analysis, reflection, and choice-making. Ultimately each of us wants to live a life that we design ourselves, grounded in our own core values, wrapped in our unique sense of identity, and fueled by our own dreams and visions. This curriculum will support youth through transitions and build the skills of abstract thinking, situation-analysis, creative problem solving, goal setting, and intrinsic motivation for long-term sustainable change.
